Project: Universal Graphics homepage redesign to reflect the company’s updated brand identity
Goal: Update the layout and the visual design of the Universal Graphics homepage to reflect the business’s new visual brand, boost reputability, and generate more interest. This is just the start of a full website rebrand. The design of the homepage will set the style for the rest of the website in the future.
My Role: After my Universal Graphics rebrand project, I was given the opportunity to redesign the agency’s website as well in order to match the new visuals. After doing some research and developing a concept, I designed wireframes and then the final mockup.
Old Homepage Problems
This is a screenshot of the old Universal Graphics homepage. At first glance, it isn’t really clear what the company actually is. Its purpose and services aren’t very transparent and the photos are a bit jarring. For a creative agency, the homepage lacks creativity and visual focus.
Wireframes
After manually sketching a few wireframes on paper, I digitized the layouts in Sketch and drafted up the text. This part of the process helped me organize the images, text, and sections in different dynamic ways.
Icons
I drew this set of icons in Adobe Illustrator to visually communicate what Universal Graphics does. Each one will be linked to its own page with additional details.
High Fidelity Concepts
Once I gathered imagery, manipulated the photos, and illustrated the icons, I added all of the assets and brand colors to the wireframes. I made multiple iterations to push the design as far as it could go and eventually execute the best possible outcome to reach the goal.
Final Mockup
This is the final mockup based on the best iteration of the high fidelity wireframes. It clearly states what the company is and does with the help of icons and type hierarchy. To add credibility, I also added a section of impressive stats and testimonials. In order to generate interest from potential clients, I highlighted a consultation signup section. The imagery and colors match the new brand and the rest of the website design will eventually follow suite.
